It all started when a Twilight mom designed a shirt for her daughter and put in on CafePress so they could print it. Immediately, the orders started coming in, and a new business was formed! The Irritable Grizzly brand shirts are not marketed by some corporation, but by true fans of the Twilight series--even before the movie release!

Twilighters who became fans after seeing the movie may wonder how we came up with the name, Irritable Grizzly. Well, it's a reference to the Twilight BOOK, rather than the movie. Specifically, in Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) by Stephenie Meyer, on page 215, Edward explains to Bella what the "vegetarian" vampires eat (animal blood rather than human blood). He specifically mentions grizzly bears when they're first coming out of a long winter's hibernation. Apparently, it's more fun to hunt them then because their hunger makes them irritable. Later, on page 316, when Bella is eating a regular meal, Edward asks how her food is. She replies, "Well, it's no irritable grizzly..." We thought it was amusing, and the perfect name for our little online tee shirt shop. Too bad the line didn't make it into the movie!
